Privacy Policy

This page explains what carolthegreek.com collects when you use the contact form or sign up for a guide or the newsletter, why, how long it's kept, and how to have it removed. If anything here isn't clear, email carol@carolthegreek.com and ask.

What we collect

• Contact form. When you fill out the form on the Contact page, your name, email address, subject, and message are sent by email through our email provider, Resend, to Carol's inbox. You also get an automatic confirmation email through Resend.
• Email signups. The email address you enter in the footer, the starter guide slideout, or the free guide landing page is stored in Klaviyo, the email marketing platform we use to send the guide you asked for and any newsletter you opt into.
• Site analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see which pages get read — general information like which pages were visited, roughly where visitors are (country/region, not exact location), device type, and which site referred you here. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland this only runs after you accept the cookie banner; everywhere else it runs by default, and you can still decline it from the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.

Why we collect it

To answer the message you sent, to send you the guide or newsletter you signed up for, and to understand which recipes and articles are actually useful so we keep making more of what works. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

Contact form messages stay in Carol's inbox as long as needed for the conversation, then get deleted during normal inbox cleanup. Email addresses in Klaviyo are kept until you unsubscribe (every email has an unsubscribe link) or ask us to delete them directly. Google Analytics keeps site-visit data under Google's standard retention settings.

Cookies and consent

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. If you're visiting from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you'll see a banner asking you to accept or decline before that cookie is set; your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months. You can change your mind any time using the "Privacy choices" link in the footer, on any page, in any region.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, or email carol@carolthegreek.com to ask us to delete your contact form messages, remove you from the email list, or answer any other question about your data. We'll handle it directly — there's no automated self-service tool for this yet.

This site doesn't require you to create an account, and we don't collect passwords or payment details anywhere on carolthegreek.com.
